Ep 057 - Cutting Horses & Cattle: Dillon Crumpler’s Journey to Ranch Ownership

Dillon Crumpler was addicted to horses from an early age.

His family was in the cutting horse and farming business so he grew up around it.

Dillon knew school wasn’t for him so when he graduated high school he went straight to working in his family’s cutting horse program.

Like many young men he wanted to see something different so he went to work for another trainer and eventually became a head trainer under one owner and then became a full fledged independent trainer leasing a place and riding customer horses.

He began to burn out over time being overworked and underpaid with all the stress of owning your own operation.

He was able to find a new opportunity in turning out cattle on wheat pasture and got busy with that.

Through that operation he was also able to find some grass leases that he turned cows out on.

He’s recently been able to get back to his passion and has started a cutting horse operation back up. One of the first ones was a big hit selling for 1 million dollars at the futurity sale.
